This painting was previously part of my private collection and has not been available to purchase until now. I would like to share with you the story behind the creation of this piece. I woke up one morning with this powerful image and title stuck in my head. That day I rushed over to my studio on a brisk day and feverishly painted this work until it was done. I was filled with emotion throughout the creation of it. I passed out that night, exhausted. I was woken up the next morning by my girlfriend telling me that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I was shocked along with the rest of the world and remained glued to the television for what seemed like months afterwards. Only after a couple of days had the significance of this painting sunk in. It was an emotional premonition of sorts and it still gives me chills to think about it to this day. It is a powerful painting, filled with bold vibrant colors and emotion, reminiscent thematically of Edvard Munch's "The Scream". This piece helped to define me as an artist and is still on of my personal favorites and bests. It is a unique and valuable collectors item.
Note: This painting is also unique in that it was created on canvas and stretcher bars made and stretched by the artist himself. Painting has been cleaned and varnished to bring out the original color and to protect the painting. You will have the choice of having this painting shipped as is, or rolled in a tube for a discounted price. Framing/re-stretching will then be up to the preference of the collector.
This painting is signed on the front and includes my Certificate of Authenticity.
